We recognize the invaluable knowledge held by tribal youth and elders, and we are committed to learning from Indigenous Ecological Knowledge (IEK) to inform our conservation efforts. Over the course of two years, these aspiring scientists will explore the majestic kelp forest habitats surrounding the Channel Islands, delving into the depths of marine biology, conservation, and marine resource management.īut this program is about so much more than just science. Participants will learn our protocol for monitoring kelp forest ecosystems, becoming certified Reef Check citizen scientists in the process. Through this initiative, we will provide hands-on training and certification in Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue scuba diving courses, along with specialized courses in marine biology and ocean conservation. This is an immersive journey into ocean stewardship and marine science for 24 passionate youth aged 16-26. We are thrilled to unveil our newest Dive into Science collaboration with the Coastal Chumash and Tongva communities, made possible by the California Natural Resource Agency Youth Community Access Program! She was also convicted on one count of identity theft. Reef & Rainforest Dive and Adventure Travel Susan Monica was found guilty of two counts each of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. In addition to a fabulous seafood dinner and celebrity guests, the evening features host Sharon Lawrence, a VIP reception, live musical performances, and silent and live auctions with celebrity auctioneer John Rhys-Davies. We expect 400 friends from the entertainment, business and environmental communities to attend.
